Women Studies

The module is a general introduction to a sociological interpretation of the role of women in society.

The sociology of gender developed alongside the women's movement, feminist sociologists challenged the views of some of their male counterparts. As traditionally, men have defined problems in sociology.

This module will address the historical context of women's studies and trace the reasons for the position of women in society. It is a dynamic and interesting domain of sociological investigation and welcomes women and men to participate.

AIM
The aim of this module is to provide a sociological understanding of the differing roles of men and women in our society.
