Sociological Theory

The module is a general introduction to sociological theory. Attempting to clarify that there are no facts without theories. Like all theory, sociological theory is selective and no amount of theory can explain everything. This module will introduce the students to the wide variety of sociological theories and explore how they can be grouped together according to various criteria.

AIM
The aim of the module is to provide an introduction to sociological theories and develop an understanding between structural and social action perspectives and relate this to ways of critically looking at society
