Social Research Methods

This module is an introduction to social research methods. This module will assist those students wishing to enter the health care professions and any undergraduate studies within the social sciences. The module undertakes to introduce different social research paradigms and understand the difference between qualitative and quantitative research methods and their appropriate usage. Also to consider the importance of ethical considerations when conducting research with humans and understand the concepts of reliability and validity and to increase an awareness of how these concepts relate to research design.

AIM
The aim of this module is to generate some understanding of the principles of social research methods to enable the student to undertake a small research project.
