Email a friendSocial Studies Full Time College CourseWhere it leads Successful students typically go on to read for degrees in Psychology, Sociology, Nursing, Social Policy, Criminology progressing into careers in social services, community and youth work, housing, the NHS, probation service, guidance and advice. The Programme The Social Studies programme focuses on a variety of issues of urgent concern to us all: poverty, crime, the family, human psychology, the environment, business and economics. It contains a wide range of module choices, giving students the opportunity to explore a variety of interests, or to specialise in one or more academic disciplines. For those wishing to progress onto degree courses in Psychology, tuition is provided in Basic Maths and Statistics. The Programme is taught through a combination of lectures, small-group seminars, workshops and one-to-one tutorials. Tutors: Sian Court and Mark Jenkins The course consists of 12 modules worth 10 credits each (level 3) as follows A number of these modules are also followed by students taking the Pathway to Nursing option Note: these modules are currently under review and may change Term One Term Two
