Pathway to Nursing Full Time Course

Tutor: Paula Rhodes

My role involves teaching all aspects of sociological and health related subjects, advising students about their future careers in the caring professions and also teaching Higher Education students.

I commenced working for Coleg Harlech in September 2003 after deciding to take early retirement and move to Harlech, as the lifestyle was far more relaxed.

My previous role was as a Senior Lecturer at Nottingham University/ School of Nursing which was spent teaching student nurses/medical students and managing a small team of teachers who specialised in community care and the social sciences. (20yrs)

I maintained my clinical expertise during this time working as a nurse advisor for NHS direct, and as a clinical nurse working within the walk in centre in Nottingham.

My earlier years were spent qualifying and working as a registered nurse, midwife, and specialising as a community midwife and district nurse. I also spent 10years qualifying as a teacher, and gaining my academic qualifications to enable me to teach in a university.

I live in Harlech and enjoy walking my dogs around the magnificent countryside.
