Music Technology College Course, Modern Composition Module

The Language of Music

This module offers students an exploratory approach to the process of musical composition. To achieve this module a student must: systematically develop original and creative musical ideas; show creative and original skill in producing arrangements of musical material; apply an understanding of a range of compositional techniques to their own work; create original compositions which make imaginative use of studio and modern techniques. On completion of this module each student will have a CD recording of their compositions for the term.

AIMS
The aim of this module is to explore and evaluate contemporary compositional techniques and technologies. It also considers these matters in relation to individual creativity.
