Multimedia Full Time College Coursealso visit the Multimedia YouTube pages The Digital Revolution is well underway. The tools to create amazing digital artwork are getting more powerful by the day. Photographers, film makers, animators and designers are using digital hardware and software as well as the more traditional methods. The opportunities for a career in these industries are immense. The new Multimedia course integrates the recognised traditional approaches and the new digital technologies in an exciting and practical way that is designed to give those students with no formal qualifications a platform from which to progress to a career in the digital creative arts industries or further HE studies. Using both traditional and digital media the course covers practical and theoretical skills in Visual and Graphics Design, 2D and 3D modelling, Web Media, Animation, Digital Imaging, Video and Radio Broadcasting. During the course you will be encouraged and supported to experiment and explore your technical and creative professional approaches and potential in studies leading to a 3rd term major project of your own choosing and participation in an end of year exhibition. Progression Upon successful completion you will be able to progress on to Higher Education
Degree studies such as Special Effects*, Film, Animation, Web or Multimedia
Design or other Creative Technological degrees. * In partnership with Bolton University we offer the first year of a Special Effects Degree at Coleg Harlech Tutors: Graham Hall, Geoff Bond, Trevor Andrews, Chris Stronge The course consists of 11 modules worth 120 credits in total (all at level

Additional studies Support options are provided in the following areas: What you can do before the course starts: The web is the obvious resource for examining Multimedia. Some sites seem to work better than others; find examples of good and bad sites and look at what makes them ‘good’ or ‘bad’. Reading of any related magazines i.e. Computer Arts, 3D World, Total Film, Empire and Digital Photographer. There are many online sites where industry professionals, students and interested people discuss and share advice and expertise. One such example is www.cgsociety.org.
