Multimedia Full Time Course

Web Media

The development of web design from a creative and practical viewpoint. This module will develop student’s aesthetic and professional web design skills.

Students will conceptualise, plan, design, and assemble a basic web site. In addition, they will analyse, compare and criticise examples of commercial web sites.

They will be required to research current developments in web design and technology in the commercial, entertainment, and art domain.

AIMS

The aim of the module is to enable the student to create and publish a professional web site. The site will be based around a set brief and demonstrate a sound understanding of current practises and thinking in the field.

What you can do before the course starts:
Visit your local galleries, libraries, cinemas or theatres and look at how modern technology is changing the way they work and present their goods.

The web is the obvious resource for examining Multimedia. Some sites seem to work better than others; find examples of good and bad sites and look at what makes them ‘good’ or ‘bad’.

Reading of any related magazines i.e. Computer Arts, 3D World, Total Film, Empire and Digital Photographer. There are many online sites where industry professionals, students and interested people discuss and share advice and expertise. One such example is www.cgsociety.org.
