Multimedia Full Time Course

Visual Investigation and Exploration

This module will to be delivered to Creative Arts and Multimedia programmes. Each student will be encouraged to develop research and problem-solving skills to demonstrate critical and analytical abilities and understanding. This will be supported by other resources such as social networking and applications for digital editing and online presentation.

During this module transferable skills are developed for all subsequent modules. This module undertakes to introduce approaches to the development of a workbook/practice file.

AIMS

  1. Explore diverse approaches to problem solving.
  2. Develop approaches to project design
  3. To produce a workbook that embodies suitable research and presentation techniques.

What you can do before the course starts:
Visit your local galleries, libraries, cinemas or theatres and look at how modern technology is changing the way they work and present their goods.

The web is the obvious resource for examining Multimedia. Some sites seem to work better than others; find examples of good and bad sites and look at what makes them ‘good’ or ‘bad’.

Reading of any related magazines i.e. Computer Arts, 3D World, Total Film, Empire and Digital Photographer. There are many online sites where industry professionals, students and interested people discuss and share advice and expertise. One such example is www.cgsociety.org.
