Multimedia Full Time Course3D Design SkillsThis module will introduce students to the fundamental technical and aesthetic concepts of 3D design. It will examine how digital 3d imaging is used in real world situations and provide opportunities for the student to create 3d models based on original designs. AIMS The student will use a variety of modelling techniques to create original 3d objects, draw on a range of materials, textures and surface effects to produce both photorealistic and non-photorealistic renders and produce short animated scenes using generated and photographed artifiacts. Some sites seem to work better than others; find examples of good and bad sites and look at what makes them ‘good’ or ‘bad’. Reading of any related magazines i.e. Computer Arts, 3D World, Total Film, Empire and Digital Photographer. There are many online sites where industry professionals, students and interested people discuss and share advice and expertise. One such example is www.cgsociety.org.
