This course is designed for both the beginner and the experienced painter. The aim is to help the students to develop their own individual approach to all aspects of Landscape Painting in any medium. Assistance is given at all stages, allowing the student to progress and develop all aspects of their work.

The area is particularly rich in landscape and coastal subjects, and a stimulus to all artists. Some of the sites visited are Cwm Nantcol, Tanygrisiau, Aber Artro Hall, Ynys and Harlech itself.

There can be no better example of the natural environment around Coleg Harlech with its beaches, mountains and sea views as well as Harlech Castle and its environs. Using this local environment as an inspiration you will be guided through the process of collecting sketches and preliminary artwork to develop in to larger scale works.

Students are expected to bring their own drawing and painting materials. Please contact the tutor, Miranda Edwards, if you have any queries (01766 780363).

It is assumed students will have personal transport although quite often students will ‘double-up’. If transport is a problem please contact the tutor.
