Creative Arts and Design Technologies Full Time College CourseArt student, Sion Evans, created a booklet depicting through photography his time at Coleg Harlech, view some of the photograhs. View drawings created by students in term 1 and paintings and life drawings created in term 2 and work books and raku in term 3 The one year foundation certificate, validated by the University of Wales, offers an exciting route into the world of contemporary creative arts. This course offers a broad range of Art and Design subjects using both traditional and digital media. Areas covered during the course will include; Digital Imaging, Sculpture, Drawing and Painting and Mixed Media. During the course you will be encouraged and supported to experiment and explore your creative potential in studies leading to a 3rd term major project of your own choosing and participation in an end of year exhibition. Progression The course will also give you a sound basis to use the skills you have acquired in employment fields such as working in galleries or assisting with exhibitions or other art and media related industries such as design, illustration or art retail. Completion of the course will also develop and hone your skills if you are thinking about self employment options in the creative and/or craft industries that include elements of designing, creating and selling objects or works of art. Many large employers of community supporting bodies employ classroom, mental health, probation and/or youth work assistants where the art and media skills gained are valuable assets to use as a medium of communication.
